<br />168. <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />August 16, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />IH35 area; IH35/Centerpoint Road area. The Council adjourned into <br />Executive Session at 6:04 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 7:02 p.m. (See Page <br />12 for continuation of Executive Session) . <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />provided direction regarding an economic development services agreement. <br />He stated the Council also gave direction regarding duties of the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the 30-Minute Citizen Comment. 1) Zaytine Little <br />stated she wished to speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 Budget. She encouraged <br />the Council to support the Georgia Street Senior Citizen Center. She <br />stated she attends the Center for entertainment, companionship and for <br />hobbies, since she has no family in San Marcos. 2) Carmen Menchaca stated <br />she wished to speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 Budget. She encouraged the <br />Council to find funding to support the Georgia Street Senior Citizen <br />Center. She stated she is grateful for the Georgia Street Senior Citizen <br />Center as a place to go to gather with her friends. 3) Juliana Villarreal <br />stated she wished to speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 Budget. She encouraged <br />the Council to continue supporting the Georgia Street Senior Citizen <br />Center. 4) April DeLeon stated she wished to speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 <br />Budget. She encouraged the Council to support the Georgia Street Senior <br />Citizen Center on behalf of her grandmother and aunt. She stated she feels <br />the Georgia Street Senior Citizen Center is beneficial to the citizens. 5) <br />Rosie Delgado stated she wished to speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 Budget. <br />She encouraged the Council to support the Georgia Street Senior Citizen <br />Center programs. 6) Priscilla Jones stated she wished to speak on Item 21, <br />FY2005-2006 Budget. She encouraged the Council to support the Georgia <br />Street Senior Citizen Center. 7) Beatrice Rodriguez stated she wished to <br />speak on Item 21, FY2005-2006 Budget. She encouraged the Council to <br />support the Georgia Street Senior Citizen Center. She also stated she is <br />83 years old and loves to participate in bingo and is grateful for the <br />Center's program. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not <br />have a Staff report for this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Taylor stated he <br />attended the Main Street Awards Banquet. He stated he appreciated everyone <br />who volunteers with the Main Street program. 2) Mayor Narvaiz stated she <br />missed the dedication ceremony for the land donation to the Village. She <br />thanked Kathy and Randall Morris for their generosity. 3) Mayor Narvaiz <br />
