<br />140. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2002-~R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT <br />ELECTION ON MAY 4, 2002; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that <br />it is in the best interest of the City to cooperate with the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District (the "School District") in holding a joint election on May 4, <br />2002. <br /> <br />2. The School District is willing to participate in holding a joint election on that <br /> <br />date. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The Joint Election Agreement attached to this Resolution between the <br />City of San Marcos and the School District for holding a joint election on May 4, 2002 is <br />approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
