<br />Applications for exmninations for licenses under this division will be made on forms fumished bv the <br />.; <br />building official. The application shall specify the applicant's experience and shall state whether the <br />applicant has ever been licensed as a contractor and, if so, when and by what jurisdiction; whether a <br />license held by the applicant has ever been suspended or revoked; and whether the applicant has ever <br />been refused a license and, if so, the date of and the reason for suspension, revocation or refusal. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.404. Licensing fees. <br /> <br />(a) All persons applying for the master electrician license, journeyman electrician license, <br />residential wireman license, maintenance electrician license, and master sign electrician license will <br />pay a fee each time they apply for the license <br /> <br />Sec. 14.405. Examination. <br /> <br />The electrical board, working in conjunction with city staff, will provide for testing of candidates for <br />licenses. The board may authorize the use of SBCCI or ICC tests. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.406. Issuance, renewal of license. <br /> <br />(a) Upon receiving a passing grade on the examination for a license under this division, and meeting <br />all other qualifications required by this article, the building official will issue a license to the <br />successful candidate. <br /> <br />(b) No license will be issued for more than one year. A license may be renewed from year to year upon <br />application of the holder. All licenses issued under this division expire in December. <br /> <br />(c) Any licensee failing to make application for renewal of a license within 60 days after its expiration <br />is considered as an applicant for an original license. This section does not permit electrical work by <br />an electrician with an expired license. <br /> <br />(d) A licensee shall have the appropriate license in his immediate possession at all times when doing <br />any electrical work, and shall display it upon demand by any peace officer, by the electrical inspector <br />or building official, or by the owner or manager of the premises or property upon which the licensee <br />is working, offers to work or has worked. <br /> <br />(e) If a license or permit issued under this article is lost or destroyed, the person to whom it is issued <br />may obtain a duplicate upon furnishing proof satisfactory to the electrical inspector that the permit or <br />license was lost or destroyed and upon payment of a fee. <br /> <br />(f) Whenever a licensee has a new name, address or employer, the licensee shall immediately notify <br />the building official of the new information within 30 days. <br /> <br />(g) All licensees shall provide proof of six hours continuing education on the currently adopted <br />National Electric Code when applying for a license after December 31,2003. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.407. Reciprocal agreements and licenses. <br /> <br />(a) The city may enter into agreements with other jurisdictions to allow licensed electricians in the <br /> <br />C:\TEMP\bldg code 2-13-02 inc.doc <br /> <br />34 <br />
