<br />The master electrician shall register the electrical contractor with the building official as the <br />electrician's employer. Notice of employment termination shall be given by the master electriciall to <br />the building official within five days. Termination will not terminate the responsibility of the <br />contractor for completion of the electrical work for which a city permit was obtained. <br /> <br />(b) A master electrician may not be employed by more than one electrical contractor at the same time. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.413. Supervision of work. <br /> <br />(a) A master electrician or journeyman employed by the master electrician shall supervise electrical <br />work performed on a jobsite. <br /> <br />(b) There shall be at least one licensed master or journeyman electrician for every five apprentice <br />electricians on each jobsite requiring an electrical permit. <br /> <br />(c) There shall be at least one master electrician for every six journeyman electricians at eachjob site <br />requiring an electrical permit. <br /> <br />(d) The electrician shall not request an inspection until all work to be inspected has been reviewed by <br />the permit holder. <br /> <br />(e) The permit holder shall provide identification for all employees performing permitted electrical <br />work. The identification shall be displayed on request of the building official, electrical inspector, or <br />owner of the premises or property on which the employee is working. <br /> <br />Sees. 14.414-14.450. Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 12.PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS FOR BUILDING <br />AND ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />DIVISION 1. BUILDING CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />Sec. 14.451. Building permit--required. <br /> <br />(a) It is unlawful for a person to perform any work requiring a building permit under the terms of this <br />chapter without first applying for and obtaining a building permit for the work. <br /> <br />(b) Before a building permit is issued, all state regulations and laws shall be met, and a final plat, flood <br />plain permit, and site development permit, if required, shall have been approved and filed for record. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.452. Permit applications; fees. <br /> <br />(a) All building contractors or property owners who intend to perform work under this chapter shall <br />apply for and obtain a permit from the building inspections office, unless the person or work meets <br />the requirements of an exception in this article. <br /> <br />(b) Applications for permits will only be accepted from the following persons: <br /> <br />C:\TEMP\bldg code 2-13-02 inc.doc <br /> <br />37 <br />
