ATTACHMENT A Scope of Work for the Web Redesign and Content Management System The Vendor will perform the following Services for this Project: A. Attractive Design The Vendor will provide a website design that causes the City to stand out among cities on both a regional and national basis. The City's website will be inviting, easy to use, and will reflect its unique identity. The Vendor will accomplish this through the following design characteristics: 1) Creative design that reflects the community and that captures the essence of the City of San Marcos. 2) Highly functional layout that makes important information available from the homepage and pages throughout the site. 3) Photos and collages of recognizable landmarks, scenery of the City, and the local area. 4) Consistent look and feel throughout the site to make it easier for website visitors to navigate the site and find information they need. 5) Compliance with Section 508 guidelines regarding accessibility to persons with disabilities. 6) Easy to use drop down menus helping users to quickly understand navigation and locate information with the least amount of clicks. 7) Breadcrumbs showing the user's current path to let them know exactly where they are on the Website. B. Intuitive Navigation The Vendor will organize information by department, topic, and/or target users. The Vendor's approach will allow users to find information in the variety of ways that are most important to them. Content will be available through multiple "paths" making it simple for users to search the site regardless of their preferred method. C. Vision Content Management SvstemTM The City's Website will utilize VCMS which was created in Microsoft ASP.NET and SQL Server. Upon final payment, the Vendor will provide City with the source code for City's own use. D. Integrated Web 2.0 /Gov 2.0 20 Web Redesign and Content Management System
