ATTACHMENT A <br />Scope of Work for the <br />Web Redesign and Content Management System <br />The Vendor will perform the following Services for this Project: <br />A. Attractive Design <br />The Vendor will provide a website design that causes the City to stand out among cities on both <br />a regional and national basis. The City's website will be inviting, easy to use, and will reflect its <br />unique identity. The Vendor will accomplish this through the following design characteristics: <br />1) Creative design that reflects the community and that captures the essence of the City <br />of San Marcos. <br />2) Highly functional layout that makes important information available from the <br />homepage and pages throughout the site. <br />3) Photos and collages of recognizable landmarks, scenery of the City, and the local <br />area. <br />4) Consistent look and feel throughout the site to make it easier for website visitors to <br />navigate the site and find information they need. <br />5) Compliance with Section 508 guidelines regarding accessibility to persons with <br />disabilities. <br />6) Easy to use drop down menus helping users to quickly understand navigation and <br />locate information with the least amount of clicks. <br />7) Breadcrumbs showing the user's current path to let them know exactly where they are <br />on the Website. <br />B. Intuitive Navigation <br />The Vendor will organize information by department, topic, and/or target users. The Vendor's <br />approach will allow users to find information in the variety of ways that are most important to <br />them. Content will be available through multiple "paths" making it simple for users to search the <br />site regardless of their preferred method. <br />C. Vision Content Management SvstemTM <br />The City's Website will utilize VCMS which was created in Microsoft ASP.NET and SQL <br />Server. Upon final payment, the Vendor will provide City with the source code for City's own <br />use. <br />D. Integrated Web 2.0 /Gov 2.0 <br />20 <br />Web Redesign and Content Management System <br />
