<br />(a) The director of environmental health will select an appoint a chief animal services manager <br />control officer and an assistant. The animal services manager will select the animal services staff <br />m.~mb.~r;;.:...chief animal control officer and the assistant. The animal services staffwill be under <br />the supervision and control of the director of environmental health. <br /> <br />(b) The animal services manager chief animal control officer will enforce all sections of this <br />chapter relating to the care, control and impoundment of animals and will establish policies for <br />the operation of the city animal shelter. <br /> <br />(c) The animal services manager and g~very animal control officer is-are authorized to issue a <br />citation to the owner of any animal found to be in violation of this chapter or applicable state <br />laws. <br /> <br />(d) No person shall interfere with or hinder the animal services manager or any animal control <br />officer in the performance of his or her official duties. <br /> <br />Sec. 6.004. Keeping swine. <br /> <br />(a) No person shall keep a swine or allow a swine to remain within the city. This does not apply <br />to miniature swine. <br /> <br />(b) Subsection (a) of this section does not apply to animal shelters, veterinary establishments, <br />government agencies or commercial animal establishments located on property zoned for those <br />purposes. Such establishments, however, must meet sanitation requirements and keep all animals <br />securely caged or penned. <br /> <br />Sec. 6.005. Keeping wild animals. <br /> <br />(a) No person shall own, possess or have custody of any wild animal, including a reptile, for <br />display, training or exhibition purposes, whether gratuitously or for a fee. This section does not <br />apply to zoos, carnivals or circuses licensed under V.T.C.A., Health and SafetyOccupations <br />Code. <br /> <br />(b) No person shall keep or permit to be kept any wild animal, including a poisonous or <br />otherwise dangerous reptile, unless licensed to do so by the state parks and wildlife department <br />for rehabilitation purposes. <br /> <br />Sec. 6.006. Offering animals as prizes. <br /> <br />No person shall give away any animal, fish, reptile or bird as a prize for or as an inducement to <br />enter a place of amusement or as an incentive to enter into any business agreement whereby the <br />offer is made for the purpose of attracting trade. <br /> <br />Sec. 6.007.
