Mayor Guerrero provided a brief update regarding recent visits to Washington, D.C. for the <br />National Mayor's Conference and the National League of Cities Conference. He also provided <br />an update regarding visits with Representative Doggett, Senator Cornyn and the Staff of Senator <br />Hutchison regarding Federal funding. <br />Council Member Porterfield provided an update on the latest developments within the Lone Star <br />Rail District and the recent activities by the Hays - Caldwell Public Utility Agency. Direction was <br />given to the City Manager to look into asking the Comptroller's office to release the funds that <br />have been approved for rail relocation. <br />Council Member Terry provided an update on recent activities on the CAPCOG Executive <br />Committee funding for 911, and also gave a brief explanation of `My Permit Now' and how it <br />can benefit its users. <br />4. Receive Quarterly Report from the Greater San Marcos Economic Development <br />Partnership. <br />Amy Madison, Director of the Greater San Marcos Economic Development Partnership, <br />provided the Council with their report for the second quarter. <br />5_ Invocation <br />Sr. Pastor Paul Thompson with Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ provided the <br />invocation. <br />6. Pledge of Allegiance <br />Devon Vasquez, Fifth Grader at Hernandez Elementary School and member of the <br />Ambassador's Club <br />7. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Maria Rocha, 600 Boulder Bluff, provided an update regarding the City's funding of the <br />Indigenous Cultures Institute and their activities over the past year. <br />Patricia G. (Pat) Murdock, 103 Blanco Street, provided a written statement stating that she would <br />yield her position on the Veteran's Advisory Committee if the Council chose to realign the <br />structure, but asked that some sort of lateral consideration is considered due to event's that Parks <br />and Recreation staff members coordinate. <br />David Adams, 309 Whitetail Dr, addressed the Council regarding the proposed Veteran's <br />Commission Board Ordinance and asked that City Council look upon it favorably. <br />
