specific budget for the Project and the Engineer will notify the City immediately upon determination
that the Project cost may exceed the Project budget. However, the City acknowledges that opinions
of probable construction cost prepared by the Engineer are made on the basis of the Engineer's
experience and qualifications and represent the Engineer's best judgment as an experienced and
qualified professional. It is recognized that the Engineer does not have control over the cost oflabor,
material, equipment, or services furnished by others or over market conditions or contractors?
methods of determining their prices. Accordingly, the Engineer does not guarantee that the actual
costs will not vary from the opinions submitted by the Engineer to the City.

1.3.8 At approximately the 70 percent complete milestone, distribute review documents to a QC
committee consisting of Engineer's senior staff members who will forward back any comments
and/or suggestions to the project design team. A formal QC workshop will not be held.

1.3.9 Furnish City three (3) sets of copies of plans, specifications, and bid proposals marked
"preliminary" for approval by the City. Upon final approval by the City, the Engineer will provide
the City one reproducible set, three sets of blue lines, and one half-size set of final plans and
specifications.

1.3.10 The Project shall consist of the following improvements as described below:

a. Install one (1) new 6 MGD high service pumping unit with a variable
frequency drive (VFD). Pumping unit shall be similar to the existing two 6
MGD units.
b. Install a new VFD on one of the existing high service pumps.
c. Install a limited plant SCADA system to monitor and control the high
service pumps utilizing the VFDs.
d. Necessary electrical, mechanical and structural design for these
improvements.

1.3.11 Meet with the City's Project Manager periodically or as needed to update the City on the
progress of work.

1.3.12 Head the Project team and coordinate the integration of design, surveying, right of way
issues, traffic control, utility Engineering, permitting, and other services as previously approved.

1.3.13 Prepare construction contract documents using forms supplied by the City based on the
approved design development documents and any further adjustments authorized by the City in the
scope, quality or budget of the Project. These contract documents will include detailed plans and
technical specifications required for the Project to be accurately bid and efficiently constructed.

1.3.14 Use its best professional judgment to create documents that comply with applicable
construction and development codes, local regulations and ordinances and other federal and state
regulations which are known or which should reasonably be known to the Engineer.

AlanPlummer. wpd

4
