• evaluations of Citv Council Appointees, to wit: Citv Manager. Citv Attornev, Citv Clerk, <br />and presiding Judge of the San Marcos Municipal Court. <br />Council decided to hold this item in open session. Dr. Richard Lewis reviewed the process for <br />the upcoming appointee review process that will take place at the August 16, 2011, meeting. <br />5. COUNCIL MEMBER UPDATES: <br />Receive status reports and updates from the Mavor and /or Council Members and a <br />general discussion re ag rding the following <br />Council Member Terry — CAPCOG Update. <br />Council Member Porterfield - Update on her attendance to "It's Time School Summit" <br />and possible direction to staff. <br />Council Member Terry provided the Council with an update on the recent activities of the <br />CAPCOG executive committee. Recently the committee approved the passage of the Revised <br />Prioritized List of Projects for FY 2011. Mr. Terry stated that the committee was forced to <br />prioritize and consolidate programs due to a 65% reduction in funds from the State of Texas, <br />but stated that training staff and maintenance of systems and machines will continue for the <br />region despite the reduction in funds. Mr. Terry also provided information regarding the <br />reinstatement of 9- 1- lfunds for FY 2012 -2013, and that due to action taken by the Texas <br />Legistlature, CAPCOG would see and additional $426,085. Mr. Terry also provided Council <br />information regarding the GEO Map 2010 Program. <br />is Council Member Porterfield, along with her intern Ms. Channa Taylor, provided Council <br />information on the "It's Time School" Summit they recently attended. The conference's <br />objectives were to gather a diverse community of committed coordinated school health <br />champions from across Texas and the nation, establish a set of statewide, annual objectives for <br />Texas `coordinated school health initiatives, equip the assembled champions for coordinated <br />school health with the tools and resources needed to enhance and expand their local initiatives, <br />and provide these champions with a social change platform that unties and tracks their local <br />efforts toward a shared cause and set of annual objectives. Mrs. Porterfield and Ms. Taylor <br />also spoke on the Let's Move initiative that was launched by First Lady Michelle Obama. <br />6. Invocation <br />Pastor Sam Montoya with Sinai Pentecostal Church provided the invocation. <br />7. Pledge of Alle giance <br />Bruce King and Adriel Cunnion from Big Brothers / Big Sisters led the assembly in the <br />Pledge. <br />8. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Sam Huenergardt, 1004 Stagecoach Trail, addressed the Council on behalf of CTMC. He stated <br />• that CTMC is dedicated to health and well being of the citizens and visitors of the community <br />
