• Matthew Lewis, Development Services Director, provided Council with an update regarding the <br />Downtown Parking plan. Staff will be bringing back an update or award of Request for <br />Proposal (RFP) in late August or early September. <br />22.11old discussion re ardin the consideration of a ballot initiative for the banning <br />smoking in public places and provide direction to staff. <br />Following discussion, City Council directed staff the they would like to see a ballot initiative, <br />and would like for staff to review ordinance options, provide recommendations and data <br />regarding non - binding and binding, prepare a schedule for the organization of public <br />meetings to hear citizen comments and hold Council discussion, and bring this information <br />back at the July 5, 2011 Regular Meeting. <br />23.Ouestion and Answer Session with Press and Public. This is an onnortunity for the Press <br />and Public to ask questions related to items on this agenda. <br />Christie Maycock - Did TAP (Texas Aviation Partners) mention what they have done to <br />assist Compliance Aviation project? Mayor Guerrero - No. <br />Can Council or Mayor clarify or define what you meant by your comments of providing <br />significant assistance to the Compliance Aviation project to assist us for the secondary <br />location? Mayor Guerrero - Council provided direction for TAP to work with you for the <br />other property. We can certainly meet after this to look back at the direction. <br />. Have you made any contact with the vendors to see how they are doing? <br />Mayor Guerrero - That is something that Staff would handle. TAP would handle that. They <br />have a survey available online and at the airport. <br />Griffin Spell — Has the 1991 ordinance from Council or Ballot? Has it been amended? <br />City Attorney, Michael Cosentino — Council adopted an Ordinance. <br />Mayor Guerrero — Yes. <br />24.Adiournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council <br />Member Terry, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to adjourn the <br />regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council at 8:02 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
