Taylor, City Attorney <br />City of San Marcos <br />City Hall, 630 East Hopkins <br />San Marcos, Texas 78666 <br /> <br />Re: Letter Agreement for Legal Services <br /> <br />Dear Mark: <br /> <br />Weare pleased and honored that the City of San Marcos has decided to retain Karger Key Barnes <br />and Springer, LLP (KKBS) in connection with the defense of the above referenced police officer <br />disciplinary appeal. The purpose of this letter is to set forth the terms of the City's engagement of <br />KKBS. <br /> <br />1) We can meet all the City's expectations set out in you letter dated July 3,2001. <br /> <br />2) Our representation will be on an hourly fee basis, billed in tenth-of-an-hour increments, with <br />the smallest increment beginning at two-tenths of an hour. I will be the lead attorney on this <br />matter, but I may call upon other attorneys in the firm to assist me from time to time. The <br />City will be responsible for the hourly fee of each attorney and legal assistant who perform <br />work on behalf of the City in this matter. The City will also be responsible for all expenses <br />which are incurred during our representation of the City in this matter. These expenses will <br />include copying charges ($.20 per copy), postage, long distant charges, faxes, computerized <br />research, overnight courier service and travel cost.
