It includes a number of
existing residential subdivisions, including Willow Creek, Laurel Estates, Turkey Hollow, Quarry
Springs, the Ridge at Willow Creek, and the Ridge at Stone Cliff. The proposed annexation
area also includes several tracts located southeast of Hunter Road.

1. Police Protection
Police services, including patrolling, response to calls, and other routine services, will begin on
the effective date of the annexation using existing personnel and equipment.

2. Fire Protection
Fire protection services will begin on the effective date of the annexation using existing
personnel and equipment and within the limitations of the available water supply. Fire
protection services include:
. Fire suppression and rescue
. Hazardous materials mitigation and regulation
. Commercial building fire inspections
. Hydrant inspection program
. Fire prevention programs

The San Marcos Fire Department will serve this area primarily from the new Hunter Road Fire
Station, located at 2420 Hunter Road, very near the proposed annexation area. This station
will be staffed with 3-4 firefighters around the clock. The three other fire stations in the city
will respond to all house fires in the annexed area with an additional 8-10 firefighters. We
also will call out an additional 17 volunteer firefighters and up to 28 off-duty firefighters.

3. EmerQencv Medical Services
The City of San Marcos contracts for emergency medical services through the San Marcos -
Hays County EMS, which already provides service to the area being annexed. Emergency
medical services, including emergency response calls, will continue at the same level of
service after the annexation. In addition, the City's Fire Department also provides first
response on life threatening medical emergencies.

EXHIBIT B
