<br />235. <br /> <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT <br /> <br />ThisAGREEMENT is made this the .;;..(0& day ofDi c.evnb €4' ,2001, between <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas ("City"), 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666 and <br />Voelzel Architecture (the "Consultant"), 2804 Trail of Madrones, Austin, Texas 78746, for <br />the provision of professional services in connection with the Georgia Street Senior Citizen <br />Center Project located at 701 Georgia Street, San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />The City and the Consultant agree as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE 1 <br />CONSULTANT'S SERVICES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />1.1 STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE <br /> <br />1.1.1 Consultant will be responsible for the proper, accurate and adequate design and <br />preparation of plans and specifications and other construction contract documents for <br />Phase I of the Georgia Street Senior Citizen Center Project (the "Project"), and for <br />construction administration for Phase I. Consultant will also develop a master plan for <br />Phase 1 of the Project and for an eventual Phase 2 component of the Project. The Project <br />includes the design of a structure per City's program requirements, to include a parking lot <br />for 6 cars, a portechochere and exterior porches which will be bid as add alternates. The <br />Project will be designed in such a way to allow for two phases of construction due to <br />current funding limitations. Construction documents will be prepared for the total project <br />and construction administration services will only be provided for Phase I construction. <br />Funding for the construction of this Project is being provided by the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") through the Community <br />Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program. The consultant will perform all of its services <br />so that the Project will proceed in accordance with HUD guidelines. <br /> <br />1.1.2 The Consultant's Basic Services consist of the services described in Sections 1.1 <br />through 1.4 and include normal architectural services. Certain portions of the Consultant's <br />Basic Services may be required to be performed through the following consulting <br />disciplines as subcontractors to the Consultant: <br /> <br />(1) Coordination of field topographic surveying (to be provided by the City) <br />(2) Structural, mechanical and electrical engineering <br />(3) Coordination of landscape architecture (as an additional service) <br /> <br />1.1 .3 The performance of all services by the Consultant in connection with this Agreement <br />will be by persons appropriately licensed or registered under State, local and Federal laws <br />governing their respective consulting disciplines. In performing all services under this <br />Agreement, the Consultant will use that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised for <br />similar projects by professional Architects who possess special expertise in the types of <br /> <br />voelzel agrmnt revised.wpd <br /> <br />1 <br />
