32. Regular Meeting January 18, 2005 Page 4 Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Human Services Advisory Board. Mr. Thomaides moved to appoint Loraine Burleson to fill the vacancy and Mr. Taylor moved to appoint Brett Laws to fill the vacancy. On roll call the following vote was recorded: Burleson: Diaz, Guerrero, Mihalkanin, Narvaiz, Thomaides and Bose. Laws: Taylor. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING 8.09 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 2700 BLOCK OF HUNTER ROAD AS "GC" GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Diaz moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. Taylor inquired whether this property is located in front of The Village. Carol Barrett, Director of Planning, stated this property is located in front of The Village. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 9.94 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 508 CRADDOCK AVENUE FROM "R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) TO "CC" COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT WITH A "PDD" PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT OVERLAY; APPROVING A LAND USE PLAN AND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS; APPROVING A CONCURRENT INTERIM FUTURE LAND USE MAP AMENDMENT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Diaz seconded the motion. Mr. Taylor inquired how this amendment to the Land Use Map and to the Future Land Use would impact the chance of this property becoming anything other than residential. Carol Barrett, Director of Planning, stated this amendment to the Future Land Use Plan is for a PDD, which would be carried forward. She stated this proposed
