32. <br />Regular Meeting January 18, 2005 Page 4 <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the Human Services Advisory Board. Mr. Thomaides moved to appoint Loraine <br />Burleson to fill the vacancy and Mr. Taylor moved to appoint Brett Laws to <br />fill the vacancy. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />Burleson: Diaz, Guerrero, Mihalkanin, Narvaiz, Thomaides and Bose. <br />Laws: Taylor. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption <br />of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING 8.09 ACRES, <br />MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 2700 BLOCK OF HUNTER ROAD <br />AS "GC" GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Diaz <br />moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Taylor inquired whether this property is located in front of <br />The Village. Carol Barrett, Director of Planning, stated this property is <br />located in front of The Village.
