<br />106. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />February 15, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />He stated he was unable to attend the last Council Meeting, when this <br />Zoning request was first heard and there seems to be confusion over the I <br />Future Land Use Plan, which they hope to clarify with the map provided <br />He stated the front of the property is 1,360 feet along IH-35, and the <br />back of the property is 1,700, which is more than enough buffer zone for <br />this area He also stated last year there was twenty-one acres rezoned to <br />Light Industrial, and there has been no new industrial development On <br />roll call for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, the following vote was <br />recorded <br /> <br />AYE <br /> <br />Diaz, Guerrero, Thomaides and Bose <br /> <br />NAY <br /> <br />Mihalkanin, Narvaiz and Taylor <br /> <br />ABSTAIN <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ESTABLISHING A DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN TASK FORCEi AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />Mr Thomaides moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr Guerrero <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously Following adoption of the <br />Resolution the Council drew positions they would appoint to serve on the <br />Task Force, as follows. Mr Diaz - Dunbar Neighborhood, Mr Guerrero- <br />Main Street Advisory Board, Mr Mihalkanin - Chamber of Commerce, Mayor <br />Narvaiz - Planning and Zoning Commission, Mr Thomaides - Heritage <br />Neighborhood, Mr Bose - Downtown Association and Mr Taylor - Historic <br />Preservation Commission <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding City Council direction of <br />future agenda items 1) Mr Thomaides stated he would like to agendize a <br />discussion on the railroad 2) Mr Guerrero stated he would like to <br />agendize a discussion regarding workforce development He stated he would <br />like an update on what the City is doing in regard to workforce and <br />economic development <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9 49 P m on motion made by Mr Diaz and seconded <br />by Mr Guerrero <br /> <br />~ ' <br /> <br />Susan Narv~ <br />Mayor <br /> <br />I <br />
