<br />98. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />February 15, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />maintenance and unrelated persons She stated rental property is a <br />business, which should require a SUP She encouraged the Council to I <br />enforce the laws the City already has She also realtors should sign a <br />disclaimer informing the renter or new owner of the single-family zoning <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report 1) Mr O'Leary stated this <br />weekend a train derailed in San Marcos by Patton Street He stated it <br />involved seven train cars, which included two chemical cars He stated <br />over 1000 feet of the railroad track was damaged and 200 people had to be <br />evacuated He thanked the Police and Fire Departments for a job well <br />done He also stated there where 81 people helping, which included City, <br />County, State and railroad employees 2) Mr O'Leary stated at 6 30 P m <br />on March 21, 2005, a meeting will be held at the Activity Center with the <br />Austin-San Antonio Rail District to discuss the relocation of freight <br />trains and ultimately to develop a commuter rail 3) Mr O'Leary stated on <br />Thursday, February 17, 2005, the Nuisance Abatement Task Force will again <br />be visiting the Sagewood neighborhood 4) Mr O'Leary stated on March 5, <br />2005, there will be a warrant roundup He stated the Police Department is <br />working with several surrounding law enforcement agencies to collect on <br />unpaid tickets <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council's Report 1) Mr Diaz thanked <br />all the City employees for the quick response and a job well done with the I <br />train derailment 2) Mr Guerrero thanked everyone involved in the train <br />derailment cleanup He also thanked the citizens for their patience 3) <br />Mr Mihalkanin thanked everyone involved in the cleanup of the train <br />derailment 4) Mr Thomaides thanked everyone for their quick response <br />with the train derailment 5) Mr Thomaides stated he attended the ribbon <br />cutting for Henry Cuellar's office He stated Mr. Cuellar provided a <br />print out of Federal funding available 6) Mr Bose thanked Staff for a <br />job well done 7) Mr Taylor thanked Staff for their hard work with the <br />train derailment 8) Mayor Narvaiz stated Council wants to work on moving <br />the train tracks out of town She also stated she would like to see a <br />report on the maintenance of the tracks 9) Mayor Narvaiz stated this <br />weekend there was a fire at an apartment complex in San Marcos She <br />requested the victims let the City know what we can do to help those who <br />have beendisplaced 10) Mayor Narvaiz thanked everyone who helped plan and <br />attended the Mayor's Walk on Saturday, February 11, 2005 11) Mayor <br />Narvaiz stated she received an update on the early action compact She <br />stated she will brief Council on the Clean Air Task Force's efforts <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held February 1, 2005, adoption of two Ordinances on <br />second reading, adoption of seven Resolutions, and approval of Change in I <br />Services No 1 in the amount of $64,500 00 in connection with the <br />MKT/Riverside Wastewater Interceptor and Upper Pressure Plane Water Line <br />Project with Alan Plummer Associates, Inc , on consensus Mr Taylor <br />moved for approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 1, <br />
