<br />136. <br /> <br />Regular Meetlng <br /> <br />March 1, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading, and <br />IMr Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for conslderation reconsideration of a Zoning <br />Ordinance The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance The <br />caption reads as follows <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 0 193 ACRE <br />TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 236 STILLWELL STREET, FROM "C" COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT TO "SF-4 5" SINGLE-FAMILY DISTRICT, INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS, AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideratlon reconsideration of a Zoning <br />Ordinance The Council did not wish to reconslder this Ordinance The <br />caption reads as follows <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM INDUSTRIAL TO <br />COMMERCIAL FOR A 45 4 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE <br />2700 BLOCK OF NORTH IH-35, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE <br />CITY BY ZONING AN 81 889 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN <br />I THE 2700 BLOCK OF NORTH IH-35 AS "GC" GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS, AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding the Blue Ribbon Bond <br />Committee (Temporary) project recommendatlons Mr O'Leary stated Staff <br />has provided a list of items the Council came to a consensus on at the last <br />meeting Mr Thomaides inquired as to the total amount in the column <br />labeled Total of All Projects 0169 Mr O'Leary stated the total in thlS <br />column, means an increase of sixteen cents to the tax rate if all these <br />projects are approved by the voters Mayor Narvaiz stated if the Council <br />went with all the projects the Councll has consensus on now, thlS would be <br />an estimated seventeen cent tax rate increase Mayor Narvaiz inquired as to <br />whether the items the Council has consensus to place on a ballot for a Bond <br />Election total $12,260,000, which would increase our tax rate six cents and <br />would be added to our current forty-seven cent tax rate Mr O'Leary <br />stated yes, the current forty-seven cent tax rate would increase six cents <br />Mr Mihalkanin thanked Staff and the Blue Ribbon Bond Committee for all the <br />work they have done He also stated the Council has agreed by consensus to <br />projects totallng $12,260,000 be placed on the ballot He stated the more <br />projects placed on a ballot, the less likely any projects would pass Mr <br />Diaz inquired whether these projects would be packaged together on the <br />ballot or individually listed on the ballot Mayor Narvaiz stated the <br />Icouncil recommended these projects be individually listed on the ballot <br />Mr O'Leary stated the relocation of the Central Fire Station, which was <br />identifled by the Blue Ribbon Bond Committee as a priorlty was not on thlS <br />IlSt of consensus ltems Mayor Narvaiz stated the Council agreed by <br />consensus to wait for the Master Plan Report Study to come back to the <br />Councll for discussion She stated if the Council agrees by consensus to <br />
