This scope
of work describes the material, labor and responsibilities involved in upgrading and collapsing this
network into a single IP centric platform that will involve the following major items:
• Migrate 496 digital and analog sets to IP sets
• Collapse all PBX functions into a single CS1000E at Municipal
• This will provide single system management
• Future upgrades will only involve one PBX
• The SRG gateways will be removed from service
• Increase resilience
• Convert the Police Department PBX into a survivable media gateway
(SMG1000E) and add a Call Processor that provides processing for this key
location as well as an alternate Call Processor for the other sites.
• Add another Telephony Node to the Police Department. This will provide a
second IP registration node for this site as well as other sites.
• Upgrade to the latest software release — Rls 7.5. This will also involve the installation of
Session Manager (SM), the central core for the Avaya Aura platform. System Manager
(SMGR), will be added to manage SM. Both of these will be on redundant processors.
Session Manager, the SIP routing engine, will be split between Municipal and Police
Department sites.
Project Scope
The details of the project scope are presented for each respective physical location below.
Municipal Building
The CS1000E at this site will be upgraded from Rls 6.0 to Rls 7.5. The HA Call Processors and
two signaling servers will remain at this site.
Convert 198 digital sets and 43 analog sets to IP sets (111 —1120E and 130 — 1140E)
Provide 241 local power supplies for IP sets. It is the city's responsibility to provide extension
cords if there is not a 110v outlet close to the phone.
Retain 6 analog station ports used for fire alarm secondary line and conference room phones.
Retain 2 analog station ports for CallPilot modem and separate spare modem for PBX access.
Remove three point -to -point PRI to Parks, Police and Electric Utility
Retain the current analog trunks:
2 — analog CAMA 911
1 — analog trunks (757 -2944)
1 — analog for Animal shelter paging
1 — analog for Municipal paging
1 — analog for Fire Station paging
1 — analog form Music on Hold
Convert WIC OPX to IP telephones. There are 15 of these and they are included in the 43 above.
System Manager will be added with both servers at this site
Session Manager will be added with one server at this site and another server at the Police Dept.
Add a new MG 1010 media gateway chassis. The TDM ports that will be retained (analog station
and analog trunk), will be moved to this chassis. Cables and power cords to the existing IPE
modules will be removed. This will allow City personnel to move the old CE and IPE modules and
columns out of the equipment room.
