4. Consider adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. <br />The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />September 20, 2011. The City Council provided direction to staff to place the setting of <br />appointee salaries on the October 4, 2011, Agenda. <br />5.Receive presentation and hold discussion regarding National Leaeue of Cities Youth <br />Education and Families Institute programs. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Prather and a second by Council <br />Member Scott the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to postpone the presentation <br />until the regular meeting on October 4, 2011. The motion carried unanimously. <br />6.Receive Staff update and hold discussion regarding Capital Improvement Proiects, and <br />provide direction to staff. <br />Linda Huff, Capital Improvements Director, provided City Council with an update regarding <br />2011/2012 CIP projects. <br />7.Receive a Staff update and presentation on the current Customer Service Initiative. <br />Ron Campos, Human Resources Director, provided City Council with a brief presentation on the <br />current progress of the Customer Service Initiative and the current activities of the Customer <br />Service Team. <br />8. Invocation. <br />Minister Brian Ferguson of San Marcos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship provided the <br />invocation. <br />9. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Keaton Hughes a 4►h grade gifted and talented student from Hernandez Elementary led the <br />assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. <br />10.30 Minute Citizen Comment Period. <br />Ed Theriot, 401 Dryden Lane, Buda, TX, spoke on behalf of The Retreat project. He stated that <br />they are aware of the problems with the dust and are working with City Staff to decrease the <br />amount of dust. They have increased the amount of water trucks from 1 to 7 and hoping that the <br />high winds will subside. They will continue to working closely with City Staff. <br />
