<br />Attachment A <br /> <br />Activities to Be Performed bv the Parties <br /> <br />Activities to be Performed by the CITY: <br /> <br />1. The City provided SMPD School Resource Officers will conduct nightly visits to the homes of students <br />in grades 7'h through 12th who are absent from school, without an excuse. Such visits will be made <br />primarily between the hours of 6 and 9 P. M., Monday through Friday. <br /> <br />The City provided SMPD School Resource Officers would provide relevant information to parents <br />regarding compulsory school attendance laws. <br /> <br />3. The City provided SMPD School Resource Officers would report daily to the Hays County Truant <br />Officer detailing the results of the previous night visits. <br /> <br />4. The City provided SMPD School Resource Officers would be subject to the control and supervision of <br />the San Marcos Police Department to the same extent as any other officer. They shall have no duty <br />or obligation to the San Marcos Independent School District or the residents of the area other than <br />duties and obligations to the public in general. <br /> <br />5. The City will cooperate fully in the COUNTY required monitoring process. <br /> <br />Activities to be Perfromed by the DISTRICT: <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />The DISTRICT Daily Attendance Officer will mail warning letters to the parents of students, which are <br />absent for more than five days in a six-month period without an excuse. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />The DISTRICT will provide the COUNTY Truant Officer with a list of students to be visited each <br />weeknight which includes address, student 10, parents names, grade and school attending no later <br />than 4:00 P. M. daily or at a time mutually agreed upon by the Truant Officer and the DISTRICT. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />The DISTRICT Daily Attendance Officer will serve .as the liaison between the COUNTY and CITY on <br />matters concerning this project. <br /> <br />v. <br /> <br />The DISTRICT will provide information and cooperate with the COU NTY and CITY to implement, <br />operate and evaluate the program. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />The DISTRICT agrees to cooperate fully in the COUNTY required monitoring process. <br /> <br />Activities to be Performed by the COUNTY: <br /> <br />11. The COUNTY provided Truant Officer would assist the SMISD Daily Attendance Officer with the filing <br />of truancy cases in both justice and juvenile court. <br /> <br />12. The COUNTY provided Truant Officer would provide a yearly written program evaluation report to the <br />Hays County Judge, SMISD Superintendent and the Mayor of San Marcos. <br /> <br />13. The COUNTY is responsible for monitoring the truancy project to enforce all terms and conditions of <br />the grant provided by the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division - Juvenile Justice and <br />Delinquency Prevention Program. <br />
