<br />53. <br /> <br />55 R <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2000- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING A TEXAS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM <br />GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC <br />ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM APPROVING THE CONTRIBUTION OF <br />MATCHING FUNDS BY THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AND RELATED DOCUMENTS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Recitals: <br /> <br />1 . The Texas Department of Transportation (the "Department") has awarded <br />a grant to the City for a Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program ("CSTEP") <br />which is intended to aid the City in conducting a comprehensive overtime effort targeting <br />hazardous moving violations, driving while intoxicated violations, occupant protection <br />violations, unsafe speed violations and signal/sign violations. <br /> <br />2. The City wishes to enter into a Texas Highway Traffic Safety Program Grant <br />Agreement-CSTEP with the Department. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The attached Texas Highway Traffic Safety Program Grant Agreement <br />between the City and the Department for a CSTEP is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City's match of $11,847.00 in local funds per year as <br />indicated on the attached Agreement is approved. <br /> <br />PART 3. Thatthe City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, or his authorized representative <br />is authorized to execute the grant agreement and all other documents related to the <br />CSTEP on behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PART 4. <br />passage. <br /> <br />That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 6th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />March <br /> <br />,2000. <br /> <br />D~~.~ <br /> <br />Billy G.
