<br />74. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2000 - 61 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE REALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FROM DOWNTOWN <br />SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FUNDING TO VARIOUS OTHER <br />PROJECTS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. In February of this year the City Council voted to fund the remaining portions <br />of the Downtown Sidewalk Improvements through Certificates of Obligation. <br /> <br />2. The Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") will not allow <br />the City to maintain more than 1.5 times its grant amount as of July 31, 2000. <br /> <br />3. A total of $628,553.00 is available for reallocation from the Downtown <br />Sidewalk Project to other CDBG projects. <br /> <br />4. Because the funds that were to be utilized on the Downtown Sidewalk <br />Improvement Project represent a significant portion of overall CDBG funding it is necessary <br />to reallocate a portion of those funds to meet HUD's spending requirement. <br /> <br />5. The City wishes to reallocate $483,879.00 of the total available funding to <br />other CDBG projects. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
