<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />November 15, 2005 <br /> <br />37. <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a presentation by Mr Covington regarding the <br />efforts of the rail district and its impact on San Marcos Sid Covington, <br />Chair of the Austin-San Antonio Commuter Rail District, provided the <br />Council with a powerpoint presentation He stated the Commuter Rail <br />District has sent letters to cities asking for new members Mr <br />Mihalkanin asked Staff to provide a copy of the powerpoint to the Council <br />(powerpoint attached) <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held November 1, 2005, approval of two Ordinances on second <br />reading, adoption of one Ordinance on third and final reading, and adoption <br />of eight Resolutions, on consent The Council removed Item 11, approval of <br />an Ordinance on second reading, and Items 18 and 20, adoption of <br />Resolutions, to be considered separately Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval <br />of minutes of the Regular Meeting held November 1, 2005, approval of one <br />Ordinance on second reading, adoption of one Ordinance on third and final <br />reading and adoption of the remaining six Resolutions on consent, and Mr <br />Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously The captions of <br />the Ordinance and Resolutions read as follows <br /> <br />Approval of an Ordinance on second reading <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF AN ALLEY LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE 800 <br />BLOCK OF LEWIS STREET, APPROVING THE CONVEYANCE OF THIS ALLEY TO IDA <br />F MILLER AND NICHOLAS L HOOVER, AND TO BETTY JACK RAINS AND DON <br />RAINS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DEEDS, AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ANNEXING TO THE CITY AN AREA CONSISTING OF 232 86 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, <br />LOCATED IN THE 1500-3100 BLOCKS OF HIGHWAY 123 (BALCONES BUSINESS PARK <br />TRACT); APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS AREA, AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Adoption of Resolutions <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION FOR PRESERVE AMERICA COMMUNITY DESIGNATION, <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE CAPITAL AREA <br />PLANNING COUNCIL ("CAPCOG") FOR A REGIONAL SOLID WASTE GRANTS PROGRAM <br />GRANT, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO <br />
