<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 7, 2005 <br /> <br />85. <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />attended a transportation conference with Austin's Mayor Will Wynn He <br />I stated he would like to receive guidance from the Council on an alternative <br />transportation initiative 3) Mayor Narvaiz thanked everyone on the Sights <br />and Sounds Committee for another successful event 4) Mayor Narvaiz stated <br />she attended the Nosotros LaGente event where they handed out 600 pairs of <br />shoes to children in the community 4) Mayor Narvaiz stated she also <br />attended the Southside Community Center annual luncheon, which raises funds <br />for the community 5) Mayor Narvaiz stated the Blue and Brown Santa <br />Program is in need of toys and/or money 6) Bill Taylor thanked everyone <br />who participated in the Sights and Sounds event 7) Bill Taylor stated this <br />will be his last meeting as a Council Member He stated the smartest thing <br />the Council did was hire Dan O'Leary as the City Manager He also thanked <br />Janis Womack, City Clerk, for all the help and always taking care of the <br />Council He thanked Mark Taylor, City Attorney, for always keeping the <br />Council on the straight and narrow Mr Taylor then read accomplishments <br />of the Council over the past 3-1/2 years he served as a Council Member <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Special Meeting held November 9, 2005, approval of minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held November 15, 2005, approval of minutes of the Special Meeting <br />held November 16, 2005, approval of four Ordinances on second reading, <br />adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, and adoption of five <br />I Resolutions, on consent The Council removed Item 17, adoption of an <br />Ordinance on third and final reading, to be considered separately Mr <br />Mihalkanin moved for approval of minutes of the Special Meeting held <br />November 9, 2005, approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held November <br />15, 2005, approval of minutes of the Special Meeting held November 16, <br />2005, approval of four Ordinances on second reading, adoption of the <br />remaining Ordinance on third and final reading, and adoption of five <br />Resolutions on consent, and Mr Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously The captions of the Ordinances and Resolutions read as <br />follows <br /> <br />Approval of Ordinances on second reading <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 1 2 6 1 OF THE CITY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REGARDING <br />THE COMPOSITION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS, AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE TO ADOPT A NEW DIVISION 18 OF <br />ARTICLE 3 TO ESTABLISH A BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION, AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE 2005-2006 CITY BUDGET TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE SURFACE <br />
