The Engineer will: <br />1.1. Drill a total of eleven (11) soil borings at the following locations and boring depths: <br />a) Six (6) pavement borings spaced at approximately 500 ft spacing throughout the <br />alignment. Borings will be advanced using conventional split -spoon and Shelby - <br />tube sampling techniques to the targeted depth of 10 ft or to auger refusal <br />whichever is less. <br />b) One (1) culvert boring drilled in the vicinity of the proposed culvert location. The <br />boring will be advanced to a maximum depth of 20 ft below existing grades <br />performing Texas Cone Penetrometer (TCP) sampling at 5 ft intervals. <br />C) Two (2) retaining wall borings drilled in the vicinity of the proposed retaining <br />walls. The boring will be advanced to a maximum depth of 20 ft below existing <br />grades performing Texas Cone Penetrometer (TCP) sampling at 5 ft intervals. <br />We understand that the base of the proposed retaining walls will be near existing <br />grade and a total of 600 lineal ft of retaining wall is anticipated. <br />d) Two (2) bridge borings in the vicinity of the proposed bridge. The borings will be <br />advanced to a minimum depth of 15 feet into competent rock formations <br />(estimated total boring depth of 60 ft below existing grades) performing Texas <br />Cone Penetrometer (TCP) sampling. <br />1.2. Locate soil borings in the field utilizing tape and right angle measurement from existing <br />benchmarks (does not include surveying of boring locations). The Engineer will document the <br />location of the borings with a recreational hand -held GPS unit. <br />1.3. Provide traffic control during the drilling operations. <br />1.4. Perform laboratory testing necessary to evaluate the soils in order to provide a written <br />engineering report to include bridge, culvert, and retaining wall design and construction <br />recommendations. <br />1.5. Perform pavement design services to be provided in a written engineering report. <br />Pavement analyses will be performed utilizing either AASHTO or FPS 19 based on California <br />Bearing Ratio testing and traffic loading conditions provided by the client. <br />1.8 TASK 8 FINAL ROADWAY DESIGN <br />The Engineer will: <br />1.8.1 Prepare existing and proposed typical section sheets incorporating any unresolved <br />comments from the Preliminary /Schematic Design Phase. <br />1.8.2 Prepare a Title Sheet, Index of Sheets, and a Project Layout which references survey <br />control benchmarks. <br />1.8.3 Develop Removal Plans identifying and quantifying removals. <br />1.8.4 Prepare Plan- Profile Sheets for Hunter Road at a scale of 1 " =40' horizontal and 1 " =10' <br />Kimley Horn - FM 2439 (Hunter Road) <br />1< <br />
