Investigate and pursue amending tax status to place the EDC in the most advantageous <br />category. <br />Goal No.6: Publish accurate, quality materials to represent the community. <br />Strategy- Update and improve on each of the materials and lists published and distributed by <br />the EDC. <br />Actions: <br />1. Update the community profile twice annually, continually improving the presentation <br />of the data. <br />2. Continue to update the demographics package as new information becomes available <br />on ongoing basis. <br />3. Publish the hard-cover Fact Book annually, with several inserts updated more <br />frequently. <br />4. Make the Fact Book available on diskette and by internet. <br />Goal No.7: Act as a good steward of public/private funds to achieve these measurable <br />results with available funding as shown in the budget. <br />Strategy- Carefully account for all funds allocated to EDC, along with volunteer and staff <br />hours. <br />Actions: <br />1. The boards of the EDC and Chamber shall focus their efforts in striving to fulfill the <br />mission of the EDC. <br />2. Board Members shall not exercise authority as a board member except when acting in <br />a meeting with the full board or when delegated that authority by the full board. <br />Goal No.8: Increase Communication with the City and the County. <br />Strategy- Meet with City and County officials on a regular basis. <br />Actions: <br />1. Provide monthly updates on the activities and progress towards goals of the EDC. <br />2. Meet with appropriate boards and staff on a regular basis to monitor and facilitate <br />economic activity in San Marcos and Hays County. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br />
