I

f. Bearings will be factory lubricated with a premium quality NLGI 2 or 3-
grade multi-purpose ball bearing grease having corrosion inhibitors, anti-
oxidant additives and mechanical stability for high speed operation.
Bearing grease will be multi-purpose lithium soap grease. The grease will
also have a minimum base oil viscosity of 500 SUS at 1000F and will be
suitable to operate continuously at 2250F. Heavy, long fibered greased
will not be acceptable for use in bearings.
g. Product and Manufacturer: Provide bearings as manufactured by one of
the following:
Link Belt, Model 6800.
6. Fan impeller and driving pulley will be secured to shaft with keys and set
screws.
7. Fan housing will have flanged discharge and inlet drilled connection and
companion flanges (ANSI dimensions). Fan will be separated from ductwork at
inlet and outlet by flanged flexible connections.
8. Stainless steel nameplates giving the name of the PROPONENT, serial
number, model number, rated capacity in cfm, head in inches of water (gage),
fan in rpm, and any other pertinent data will be permanently affixed to each fan
with stainless steel hardware.
9. Fan Motors:
a. Motors will conform to the requirements of Section 16010.
b. Explosion proof, solid shaft, ball bearing, energy efficient type.
c. Motors will be in accordance with all current applicable standards of
NEMA, IEEE, AFBMA, NEe, ANSI and NFPA 820.
d. Motors will be normal starting torque, normal slip, squirrel cage induction
type.
e. Motors will be supplied with Class H insulation and rated for continuOuS
duty at 500C ambient temperature and eooc (Class B) temperature rise at
a 1.15 service factor.
f. Motors will be of sufficient size so that there will be no overload on the'
motors above rated nameplate horsepower under any condition of
operation from shut-off to zero head, unless otherwise specifically
permitted in this Section.
g. Motor thrust bearings will be adequate to carry continuous thrust loads
under all conditions of fan operation.
h. Lubrication may be grease or oil type.
i. Motor efficiencies will be determined in accordance with NEMA Standard
MG1-12.53a and IEEE Standard 112, Test Method B. Nominal and
guaranteed efficiencies will be included on motor nameplates in
compliance with NEMA Standard MG1-12.53b.
j. Stainless steel nameplates giving the name of the PROPONENT, serial
number and all data will be permanently attached to each motor.
k. Product and PROPONENT: Provide one of the following:
1) U.S. Motors.
2) Baldor.
3) General Electric.
10. Variable Frequency Controllers: Where indicated, variable frequency drives will
be provided for four air fans at the WWTP.
a. Comply with applicable NFPA standards and NEMA ICS 2, IGBT, PWM,
VFC listed.
b. Provide spare fuses (one set of three for each type and rating).
c. Provide spare indicator lights (two of each type installed).

I

I
