<br />3.02 INSPECTION OF ODOR CONTROL FANS <br /> <br />CITY or CITY'S representative reserves right to reject any and all items of equipment I <br />found to have following: blisters, chips, crazing, exposed glass, dry cracks, burned areas, <br />dry spots, foreign matter, or entrapped air at the laminate surfaces which does not satisfy <br />the tolerances specified in ASTM D 2563 Table 1, Acceptance level II for inside and outside <br />surfaces or meet the specified requirements. <br /> <br />3.03 INSPECTION AND START-UP ADJUSTMENTS <br /> <br />A. The PROPONENT will perform the following inspection of equipment with the <br />equipment manufacturer's representative. <br />1. Verify proper equipment mounting and setting. <br />2. Verify that control, interlock and power wiring is complete. <br />3. Verify alignment of each motor and drive. <br />4. Verify proper piping connections and accessories. <br />5. Verify that lubrication is completed. <br />6. Verify direction of rotation. <br />7. Verify setting of safety controls. <br />8. Monitor heat build up in bearings. <br />9. Check motor loads against nameplate data. <br />10. Verify proper starter overload heater sizes. <br />11. Verify function of safety and operating controls. <br />12. Verify proper operation of equipment. <br />13. Remove all loose materials and obstructions from interior of ducts and fans. <br />14. Remove debris and waste materials resulting from installation. <br /> <br />B. The PROPONENT will conduct the following Start-up Adjustments: <br />1. Adjust fan for proper alignment and flow. <br />2. Set volume control devices for approximate positions in preparation for final <br />testing and balancing. <br />3. Balance system for CFM provided on the Drawings and in <br />accordance with this Section. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3.04 FIELD TESTS <br /> <br />After PROPONENT and CITY or CITY'S representative have mutually agreed that the <br />equipment installation is complete and ready for continuous operation, PROPONENT will <br />conduct an operating test of the equipment and controls in the presence of CITY or CITY'S <br />representative to demonstrate that the equipment and its controls will function correctly. <br /> <br />3.05 MANUFACTURER'S SERVICES <br /> <br />A. PROPONENT will furnish the services of a qualified factory-trained manufacturer's <br />service person for both areas where the odor control fans are installed to assist in the <br />installation of the equipment, check the installation before it is placed into operation, <br />assist in the performance of field tests, supervise initial operations, and instruct the <br />plant operators in the care, operation and maintenance of the equipment. <br /> <br />B. Service person will not make less than four visits to the site. The first visit will be for a <br />period of not less than one 8-hour day to assist in the installation of the equipment. <br /> <br />I <br />
