RFP 24-057

I

5a7 -{)702

Submit current calibration certificates for each piece of equipment used along with
test results. PROPONENT will comply with equipment manufacturer's
recommendations for equipment use.

1. Jerome 631-X Hydrogen Sulfide Analyzer with data logging capability by
Arizona Instruments. Range 0.003-50 ppm.
2. Odalog Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Logger by Detection Instruments. One each
Range 0-1000 ppm, 0-200 ppm and 0-50 ppm and one Multiple Odalog
Sampler (MOSS-2) with sufficient PVC or Teflon hose for testing.
3. Alnor AXD 540 Micromanometer by TSI Incorporated, Range 250-15,500
fpm, with 18-inch pitot tube and hoses.
4. Accuro gas detector pump by Drager Safety. Include 10 tubes each of
Ammonia 0.25-3 ppm, Ammonia 2-30 ppm, Ammonia 5-70 ppm, and
Hydrogen Sulfide 0-2000 ppm.
5. Two new, clean, plastic five gallon buckets. Buckets will have 97 3/8-
diameter holes drilled uniformly in the bottom with one additional 3/8-
diameter hole on the side approximately six inches from the full open face.
See Figure 1 at the end of this specifICation.

D. Testing Procedure for open surface biofilter:

I

I

E.

1. Measure the airflow (feet per minute), static pressure (inches water column)
and velocity pressure (inches water column) into the unit. Airflows will be
within 5% of the specified value before testing may commence.
2. Measure the airflows into each individual cell or tower. Airflows will be within
5% of equal or specified distribution before testing may commence.
3. Using the Draeger pump and H2S tubes, verify the inlet H2S concentration is
less than 1,000 ppm.
4. Place one 5-gallon bucket on the media surface with the full open face
pushed into the media approximately four inches. Connect the low range
Odalog MOSS-2 tube into the bucket. Connect the high range (0-200 or 0-
1000 ppm as appropriate) Odalog MOSS-2 tube to the foul air collection
system. Coordinate sampling locations with the CITY or CITY'S
representative. Odalogs will be set to log time, temperature (OF) and H2S
concentration at two-minute intervals. Log data for two weeks.
5. Using the Jerome 631-X meter and the remaining bucket, record H2S levels
on the media surface at approximate five foot spacing. Coordinate sampling
locations with CITY or CITY'S representative. Bucket must be in place for a
minimum three minutes before reading the H2S concentration. Take
successive readings in the same location until three identical values are
recorded. Record location, time, and concentration. See Figure 2.
6. Using the Draeger pump and ammonia tubes, measure the inlet ammonia
concentration on three separate times (allow at least one hour between
samples). Using the five-gallon bucket, measure the exhaust ammonia
concentration in three locations on each cell following each inlet
measurement. Coordinate locations with CITY or CITY'S representative.

Testing Procedure for covered biofilt.er vessel or tower scrubber:

11 065-12
