Sheet metal enclosures mounted against a wall must be separated from the wall <br />not less than 1/2-inch by means of corrosion resistant spacers or by 3 inches of <br />air for freestanding units. <br />3. Use corrosion resistant bolts, nuts and washers to anchor the equipment as <br />specified in Paragraph 2.01 E of this Section. <br /> <br />E. Sealing of Equipment: <br />1. Permanently seal outdoor equipment at the base using concrete grout. <br />2. Seal or screen openings into equipment to prevent entrance of animals, birds and <br />insects. <br />3. Use stainless steel or copper mesh with openings not larger than 1/16-inch <br />squares for screened openings. <br />4. Seal small cracks and openings from the inside with silicone sealing compound. <br /> <br />F. Motors: <br />1. Electrical work includes the electrical connection of all motors, except those which <br />are wired as a part of equipment. <br /> <br />G. <br /> <br />Concealed Work: Conceal electrical work in walls, floors, chases, under floors, <br />underground and above ceilings except: <br />1. Where shown or specified to be exposed. Exposed is under-stood to mean open <br />to view. <br />2. Where exposure is necessary to the proper function. <br />3. Where size of materials and equipment precludes concealment. <br /> <br />Application: Unless otherwise indicated, power will be utilized as follows: <br />1. Motors 2 horsepower and smaller: 120 volts, single-phase. <br />2. Incandescent lighting, convenience outlets, special outlets and fluorescent <br />lighting: 120 volts, single-phase. <br /> <br />H. <br /> <br />3.03 EQUIPMENT AND DEVICE MARKING <br /> <br />A. Nameplates: <br />1. Externally mark electrical equipment by means of suitable nameplates identifying <br />each and the equipment served. <br />2. Provide each piece of equipment with a black phenolic nameplate with 3/16-inch- <br />high white lettering secured to front of equipment. <br />3. Supply blank nameplates for spare units and used spaces. <br />4. Actual nameplate legend, which may consist of up to three lines, will be provided <br />by the CITY or CITY'S representative on submittals. <br /> <br />B. Nameplate Fasteners: Fasten nameplates to equipment only by means of appropriate <br />noncorroding screws. Stick-ons or adhesives will not be allowed. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Nameplate Information: In general, the following information is to be provided for the <br />types of electrical equipment as listed. <br />1. Switchgear, Motor Control Centers and Distribution Panelboards: On the mains, <br />identify the piece of equipment, the source and voltage characteristics, i.e., 480 V, <br />3PH, 3W, etc. For each branch circuit protective device, identify the load served. <br />2.
