49. <br />Regular Meeting February 10, 2003 Page 10 <br /> <br />$1,450.00 and the San Marcos School District has agreed to provide buses for <br />transportation. He stated if the Council will match the funds, then the <br />Youth Summit can go on. Ms. Tatum stated she wants the fund request <br />agendized for the next meeting. Ms. Narvaiz stated she wants the Youth <br />Summit's request worked into the regular budget cycle. Mayor Habingreither <br />suggested Staff prepare a budget amendment for $2,000.00. Mr. Mihalkanin <br />requested this item be a motion item on the next Regular Meeting, and it was <br />consensus to do so. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the City Council's Report. 1) Mr. Mayhew <br />stated Robert Doerr, President of the Student Government at Southwest Texas <br />State University, wants to serve the City in a positive manner. He stated <br />the student government will be holding a cleanup in March and would like to <br />recognize those students. Mayor Habingreither stated since Southwest Texas <br />State University is under budget cuts, they have cancelled the President's <br />reception, and he suggested the City hold a reception. The Council agreed <br />by consensus to do this. 2) Ms. Narvaiz reminded the community about the <br />~We Are Prepared Program to be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2002 at the <br />Activity Center at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Section 551.071, to seek the City Attorney's advice <br />regarding pending litigation, contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, <br />or a matter involving attorney-client privilege (Burkett Transit Advertising <br />vs. City of San Marcos; Economic Development Agreements; election campaign <br />flyer); Section 551.074, to discuss the employment of public officers (City <br />Attorney, City Manager, City Clerk and Municipal Court Judge) and the duties <br />of public officers (City Manager-Code Enforcement; City Council-travel <br />policy); and Section 551.086, to discuss commercial or financial information <br />the City has received from a business prospect with which the City is <br />conducting economic development negotiations, or to deliberate the offer of <br />a financial or other incentive to such a business prospect (South Highway <br />123 area). Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session <br />at 10:00 p.m. and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />(Following this vote Mr. Montoya left the meeting). <br /> <br />Mr. Mayhew moved the Council reconvene at 11:50 p.m. and Ms. Narvaiz <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:50 p.m. on motion made by Ms. Tatum and seconded <br />by Ms. Narvaiz. <br /> <br />Robert B. <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Habingreither <br /> <br /> <br />
