Regular Meeting <br /> <br /> 44. <br />February 10, 2003 Page 5 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE TABLE OF POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS UNDER CITY CODE SECTION <br />2.373 TO DELETE A POLICE COMMANDER POSITION; AMENDING THE 2002-2003 <br />BUDGET TO ADJUST FOR DELETION OF THIS POSITION; AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. <br />Narvaiz seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated an officer resigned and he <br />feels this position should be deleted until after the new Police Chief is <br />hired. Ms. Narvaiz asked if the money can be brought back at a specific <br />time, and Mr. O'Leary stated yes, new positions can be added when the new <br />Police Chief wants. On roll call the following vote was recorded (Mr. <br />Taylor was not present to vote on this item). <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Mihalkanin, Montoya, Habingreither, Mayhew and Tatum. <br /> <br />NAY: Narvaiz. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 2.362 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE QUALIFICATIONS <br />FOR ONE MEMBER OF THE SAN MARCOS YOUTH COMMISSION; AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. <br />Tatum seconded the motion. Mr. 0'Leary stated the Youth Commission would <br />like for the Youth Service Bureau position to include more Youth <br />organizations. Ms. Tatum moved to amend to read ~Youth Service <br />Organization" instead of naming groups, and Ms. Narvaiz seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. The Council then voted for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading (Mr. Taylor was not present to vote on this <br />item). <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration reconsideration of a <br />Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. <br />The caption reads as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A 2.00 ACRE <br />TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 2200 BLOCK OF CLOVIS BARKER ROAD AS <br />~LI" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held January 27, 2003, adoption of two Ordinances on third <br />and final reading, and adoption of six Resolutions, on consensus.
