<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(2- J) Monitor the performance of the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in <br />conducting minority economic development and tourism promotion programs under <br />contracts with the city. <br /> <br />(~1) Provide advice and counsel to the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce <br />as to the hiring and firing of management level employees responsible for minority economic <br />development and tourism promotion programs. <br /> <br />(42) Have other duties and authority as described in contracts between the city and <br />the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for minority economic development and <br />tourism promotion programs. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 2.352 of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining indicates <br />added text; o','erstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 2.352. General powers and duties. <br /> <br />(a) The Convention and Visitors Bureau Board will advise and provide oversight for <br />contracts between the city and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce for programs for <br />the promotion of tourism within the city. <br /> <br />(b) The board will: <br /> <br />(l) Be responsible for developing approving the proposed annual budget for tourism <br />promotion programs, and making a recommendation on the budget to the city counciL <br /> <br />(2) Monitor expenditures of tourism promotion funds provided to the San Marcos <br />Area Chamber of Commerce by the City for conformity to the budget. <br /> <br />(3) Monitor the performance of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce in <br />conducting tourism promotion programs under contracts with the city. <br /> <br />(12-) Advise the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce as to the hiring and firing <br />of management level employees responsible for tourism promotion programs. <br /> <br />(2 ~) Have other duties and authority as described in contracts between the city and <br />the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce for tourism promotion programs. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is held to be <br />unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this ordinance <br />will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict with <br />this ordinance are repealed. <br /> <br />3 <br />
