<br />DIVISION 3. MINORITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM <br />DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />Sec. 2.111. Created; composition; terms; officers. <br /> <br />( a) The minority economic development and tourism development advisory board is created, <br />composed of seven voting members appointed by the city council, and four non-voting ex- <br />officio members: The city manager, the president of Texas State University-San Marcos or a <br />designee, the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent or a <br />designee, and the President of the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />(b) The city council will endeavor to appoint persons who are representative of the following <br />groups, organizations or interests as voting members of the board: <br /> <br />No. of appointments <br /> <br />Representing <br /> <br />1 <br />1 <br />I <br />1 <br />I <br /> <br />City Council <br />San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce <br />Minority Tourism or Hotel Industry <br />Food and Beverage businesses <br />San Marcos Industrial Foundation or San Marcos <br />Manufacturers Association <br />City residents <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />(c) The voting members of the board are appointed for staggered three-year terms. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.112. General powers and duties. <br /> <br />(a) The minority economic development and tourism development advisory board will <br />advise and provide oversight for contracts between the city and the San Marcos Hispanic <br />Chamber of Commerce for programs for the promotion of minority economic development <br />and tourism within the city. <br /> <br />(b) The board will' <br /> <br />(l) Be responsible for developing Revie\v the proposed annual budget of the San <br />Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for minority economic development and tourism <br />promotion programs, and make a recommendation to the city council on the budget. <br /> <br />(2) Monitor expenditures of economic development and tourism promotion funds <br />provided to the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce by the City for conformity to <br />the budget. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
