<br /> <br />68 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A REGULAR CITY <br />ELECTION ON APRIL 3, 1982, TO ELECT A MAYOR, <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FIVE AND COUNCIL MEMBER, <br />PLACE SIX AND TO APPROVE OR REJECT THE TERMS <br />AND CONDITIONS OF A LEASE OF OUTDOOR STORAGE/ <br />BATHROOM PORTION OF THE RECREATIONAL BUILDING <br />IN THE SAN MARCOS CITY PARK, TOGETHER WITH ACCESS <br />TO THE PARKING LOT ADJACENT THERETO, TO THE <br />LIONS CLUB OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR <br />POLLING PLACES; PROVIDING FOR THE FORM OF THE <br />BALLOT; PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF ABSENTEE VOTING; <br />PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL CANVASSING BOARD; PRO- <br />VIDING FOR THE USE OF AN ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM; <br />PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE AND SUCH OTHER ASPECTS <br />AS ARE INCIDENT AND RELATED TO THE PURPOSE OF THIS <br />ORDINANCE; SUSPENDING THE RULE REQUIRING THE READ- <br />ING OF AN ORDINANCE ON THREE SEPARATE DAYS <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1982-4 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That, in accordance with the provisions of <br />Article III and Article V of the Charter of the City of San Marcos <br />and the laws of the State of Texas, so far as same may be applicable, <br />a regular city election shall be held and the same is ordered and <br />directed to be held, at the various polling places in the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, as hereinafter designated,on the 3rd day of <br />April, 1982, from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at which <br />election there shall be elected by the qualified voters of the <br />City of San Marcos from the City at large, a mayor for a term of <br />two years, and one Council Member for Place Five and one Council <br />Member for Place Six for terms of three years and at which election <br />there shall be approved or rejected the terms and conditions of <br />a lease of outdoor storage/bathroom portion of the recreational <br />building in the San Marcos City Park, together with access to <br />the parking lot adjacent thereto, to the Lions Club of San Marcos, <br />Texas. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the proposition for the purpose of approving <br />or rejecting the terms and conditions of a lease of outdoor storage/ <br />bathroom portion of the recreational building in the San Marcos City <br />Park, together with access to the parking lot adjacent thereto, to <br />the Lions Club of San Marcos be set forth on the ballot as follows <br />so as to permit the electors to vote "FOR" or "AGAINST" the proposi- <br />tion: <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />shall lease the outdoor storage/bathroom portion of the <br />recreational building in the San Marcos City Park, to- <br />gether with access to the parking lot adjacent to that <br />portion of said building, to the Lions Club of San <br />Marcos, Texas, for the purpose of conducting an inner <br />tclerental operation, said lease to be on the following <br />terms and conditions: <br /> <br />(1) The Lions Club shall renovate said portion of <br />the recreational building into three storage <br />rooms (one bf which shall be usable as a meet- <br />ing room) and two bathrooms. <br /> <br />(2) The Lions Club shall have exclusive control <br />and possession of the leased premises from May <br />1 to October 31 for a five (5) year period. <br />
