Page #2

The following service plan outlines a program under which the
City will provide police protection, fire protection, solid waste
collection, maintenance of water and waste water facilities,
maintenance of public streets and parks, and maintenance of any
otha-publicly-owned facility, building, or service within sixty
(60) days as well as a program under which the City will initiate
the acquisition or construction of any capital improvements
necessary for providing municipal services within a specified time
as per H.B. No. 1952.

Police Protection

Due to the location of the subject property as well as its low
density, police protection would be provided immediately upon
annexation. The existing residences currently receive police
service (prowler calls, etc.). Patrol of the County Road could
also be achieved with current funds and staffing. The Public
Safety Department has shown concern with the inadequate bridges
located along the County Road and would recommend "No Parking"
zones be established on either side of the bridges as well as
approaches to the bridges and same be designated with signs so
long as the bridges remain in their current inadequate state.

Fire Protection

Once again, due to the property's proximity to current city limits,
fire protection is presently provided. The site is within the
boundaries of Hays County which receives City of San Marcos fire
protection. Hay stored on the site has ignited in the past,
resulting in utilization of the City's fire suppression services.
With completion of the fire station currently under construction
off Broadway Street, both response time and distance will be
brought within proper residential limits established by the State
Board of Insurance.

Waste Water Collection

Consistent with thc current City extcnsion policy by which the
City extends municipal services to any other arca of the City
(see attachment), service lines are provided by the City up to
the property line or development boundary for the standard tap
fee effected by the City of San Marcos. Any future developmcnt
could be served in one of the following manners: (1) subdivision
of land would require extensions by the developer as per the
City's Subdivision Ordinance requirements, or (2) normal tap
