<br />-2- <br /> <br />shall include, but not be limited to, services mentioned in <br />Articles VI, VII, and VIII. <br /> <br />VI. <br />GENERAL CARETAKER SERVICES <br /> <br />Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, <br />and supplies to provide general cemetery services; assist funeral <br />homes and gravesite contractors prior to graveside services; and <br />complete cleanup after services. <br /> <br />A. Opening and Closing of Cemetery-- Cemetery gates <br />are to be opened at 8:00 a.m. and locked at 8:00 <br />p.m. each day during daylight savings time. They <br />shall be opened at 8:00 a.m. and locked at 7:00 <br />p.m. central standard time each day. This service <br />shall be performed seven (7) days per week. At <br />closing time Contractor shall tour the grounds to <br />ensure that all citizens are out before locking. <br /> <br />B. Caretaker Service-- Contractor shall have at least <br />one full-time employee on site from 8:00 a.m. to <br />5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday each week. <br />The employee shall be trained to locate gravesites, <br />within two (2) weeks of award of contract. <br /> <br />C. Grave plots and curb parameters are to be located <br />and corners marked by Contractor as needed by City. <br />The method of reaching Contractor (whether by tele- <br />phone, radio, walkie-talkie, etc.) will be named by <br />Contractor at award of bid. Response time for re- <br />quests made by the City, on marking of gravesites <br />and curb parameters, will be no greater than one <br />(1) hour. <br /> <br />D. Showing Lots for Sale-- Contractor shall be responsible <br />for showing cemetery lots for sale to citizens visiting <br />the Cemetery. The map of available lots will be pro- <br />vided the Contractor by City within one (1) week of <br />award of contract. The measure of performance by <br />Contractor will be based on citizen response. <br /> <br />E. Clearing Gravesites-- Gravesites, where funeral services <br />have been held, are to be cleared once per month of <br />rocks and other debris, and topsoil is to be placed on <br />the grave. <br /> <br />F. Clearing Dead Vegetation-- Fallen trees or tree limbs, <br />dead vegetation and dead flowers are to be removed <br />within two (2) weeks of their occurrence. <br /> <br />G. Clearing Live Vegetation-- All small trees, overgrown <br />shrubs or other plant material which germinates or <br />is currently growing near headstones, curbs or other <br />objects that could be damaged, shall be removed. Any <br />small trees, overgrown shrubs or other plants which <br />encroach on surrounding cemetery lots shall be cut <br />back. <br /> <br />H. Mausoleum Care-- Mausoleum care shall include sweeping <br />out the building before services take place and destroy- <br />ing wasp or other insects' nests inside the building. <br /> <br />I. Weeds-- Weeds in gravel on gravesites shall be destroyed <br />by use of herbicides. Weed height shall not be allowed <br />to exceed three (3) inches. <br />
