Staff verification of accuracy of information and eligibility for assistance <br /> <br />3. Staff prepares environmental clearances required by HUD <br /> <br />Notification of Assistance and Disbursements <br /> <br />1. Staff notifies the applicant by phone and mail of determination regarding eligibility <br /> <br />2. If person is eligible, the amount of the assistance grant is determined (see below) <br /> <br />3. Disbursements can either be: <br />- directly to the mitigation contractor upon submittal of invoices of work completed and verification by <br />staff that the work was performed, or <br /> <br />- directly to the homeowner as a reimbursement of costs paid by the owner to a mitigation contractor <br />after providing proof of work completed, or <br /> <br />- directly to the homeowner with verification of materials costs associated with the mitigation effort <br />(labor hours are not reimbursable unless billed by a contractor) <br /> <br />Maximum Flood Mitigation Assistance Available Per House <br /> <br />1. Assistance to raise mobile homes - $5,000 maximum <br /> <br />2. Assistance to raise houses on pier and beam - $15,000 maximum <br /> <br />3. Assistance to raise houses constructed on monolithic slabs - $25,000 maximum <br /> <br />4. Surveying costs to verify floodplain elevation I compliance certificate - $1,000 per house I mobile home <br />maximum <br /> <br />5. Purchase of lot I structure (as is) - $15,000 maximum <br /> <br />6. Assistance with demolition costs (where the flooded home is to be removed) - $5,000 maximum <br /> <br />7. Assistance with raising services to a newly elevated house - $2,000 maximum <br /> <br />8. Assistance with moving the house to a lot located outside of the floodplain - $15,000 maximum <br /> <br />Note: A maximum of $339,350 is available in the San Marcos Flood Mitigation Assistance Program. <br /> <br />Funding will be distributed until the total amount is expended. <br />
