<br />City employees, entitled to the same benefits and authority, and subject to the same <br />restrictions as other City police officers. The officers will generally wear their Department <br />uniforms and equipment while providing services under this Agreement. While on <br />campus, the officer will work under the supervision of the police department School <br />Resource Officer coordinator in conjunction with the respective campus princip~ or the <br />principal's designated agent. The primary function of the School Security Officer is to <br />provide law enforcement duties on the San Marcos High School Campus. Specific duties <br />performed by the School Security Officer must be agreed to by both the school principal <br />and the City's School Resource Officer coordinator <br /> <br />Section 3. Course and ~ope of Employment. All police officers providing <br />services under this agreement will be acting in the course and scope of their employment <br />by the City at all times while engaged in the performance of services under this <br />agreement <br /> <br />Section 4. Compensation. The District will pay the city one-half of the annual <br />salary and benefits for each School Resource officer. The District will pay the city the <br />equivalent of nine months salary of the School Secwity Officer. Payment to be made to <br />the City in one lump sum on or about the first day of January of each year for the ensuing <br />year. The district will make these payments out of current revenues available to the <br />District. The initial payment for 1998 shall be made no later than November 30, 1998, <br />and shall be for an amount equal to one-half of the annual salary and benefits of the <br />School Resource Officer, pro-rated for three months, plus one-third of the nine months <br />salary of the School Security Officer. If this agreement is ever terminated for any reason <br />by the City during the course of a regular school year, the District shall be obligated to <br />pay only a pro-rated share of the annual cost of the officers and any access payment by <br />the District to the City will be refunded. <br />For budgeting purposes, the District shall inquire each year of the City Human <br />Resources Department as to the anticipated salary grade and step benefits to be budgeted <br />for assigned School Resource officer and School Security Officer. <br /> <br />Section 5. Notice. All notices given will be in writing, and by personal delivery ,or by <br />registered or certified mail, return receipt requested.
