96. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003- 39 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT <br />ELECTION ON MAY 3, 2003; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that <br />it is in the best interest of the City to cooperate with the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District (the "School District") in holding a joint election on May 3, <br />2003. <br /> <br /> 2. The School District is willing to participate in holding a joint election on that <br />date. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The Joint Election Agreement attached to this Resolution between the <br />City of San Marcos and the School District for holding a joint election on May 3, 2003 is <br />approved. <br /> <br /> PART2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 24tt~ day of Feb~a~:~, ,2003. <br /> <br />Robert B.
