<br />35 <br /> <br />special meeting <br /> <br />february 4, 1980 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the 1978-79 audit. Mr. <br />Don Laine went over the summary of the audit with the Council. <br />His reports are attached and made a part of these minutes. Mr. <br />Gonzalez mentioned that the MFOA certification was an outstanding <br />accomplishment for the Finance Department. Mr. Tenorio made a <br />motion to accept the report. Mr. James seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a report on a proposal to <br />develop a Little League Complex at Lucio Park. Scott Yarbrough <br />made a statement to the Council concerning this project, informing I <br />them that it had received the approval of the Parks Board. Mr. <br />Dimmick of the Little League Association spoke to the Council <br />concerning their plans for the Complex and presented a map showing <br />the planned fields. The Little League Association would pay for <br />the cost of building the fields if the City would continue to pay <br />for the utilities and maintain the fields in the off season. The <br />Mayor directed the Staff to make every effort to assist the Little <br />League Association in this project. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance having the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ABANDONING A PORTION OF ROBERTS <br />STREET IN RIO VISTA TERRACE IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN <br />SAID LAND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. Mr. Sutton <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration sewer service to International <br />Electric Corp. property. Mr. Gonzalez described the sewer extension. <br />His report is attached. Mr. Breihan moved to proceed with the projecl <br />Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />At 9:50 p.m. the Council recessed to Executive Session on motion <br />of Mr. Tenorio and second of Mr. James. At 10:02 p.m. the Council <br />reconvened in regular session on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second <br />of Mr. Hyatt. Mr. Tenorio moved that the City Manager be authorized <br />to expand his search for suitable landfill property.
