<br />59 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />july 14, 1980 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />FOR ONE YEAR TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A TAXI <br />SERVICE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID <br />CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSPORTING PERSONS <br />USING INNERTUBES ON THE SAN MARCOS RIVER BY <br />DELETING THE REQUIREMENT THAT ANY INSURANCE <br />POLICY PROCURED CONTAIN A WAIVER OF THE SUBROGATION <br />RIGHTS OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY AGAINST CITY; <br />BY REQUIRING INDEMNIFICATION BY SERVICE WHEN <br />CITY HAS CAUSED DAMAGES, CLAIM, LOSS, DEMAND, <br />SUIT, JUDGMENT, COST OR EXPENSE AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes moved to adopt the Ordinance. Mrs. Norris seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />.The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on an emergency <br />having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-123 <br />AND SUBSECTION 29-152(c) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS TO PROVIDE TWO <br />(2) ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS AT WHICH PARKING SHALL <br />BE PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES; TO DELETE THREE (3) <br />LOCATIONS AT WHICH PARKING IS PROHIBITED AT ALL <br />TIMES; TO ADD ONE (1) LOCATION AT WHICH POLICE <br />ARE AUTHORIZED TO REMOVE VEHICLES; TO CORRECT <br />CERTAIN STREET NAMES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes asked Mr. Minnie if there were not more streets that <br />should be designated as tow-away zones. Mr. Minnie stated that there <br />probably were and that they would be coming back in the future to <br />have them added. Mr. James moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. <br />Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a request by Sandra Keith <br />to locate a mobile home on Lots 418 and 419 of Block 16 of the West- <br />over Addition on Earle Street. Mr. Brown questioned the fact that <br />there were no other mobile homes in the area. Mr. Cavazos moved to <br />approve the request. Mr. Stokes seconded the motion. On roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, Kraus, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: Brown, James, Norris <br /> <br />The motion failed. Mr. James reintroduced the motion for approval. <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, James, Kraus, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: Brown, Norris <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a request by Mr. & Mrs. Mendoza <br />to locate a mobile home in the J. M. Veramendi League #2, SE on ~ <br />of a tract located on Uhland Road. Mr. James moved to approve the <br />request. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the <br />following caption: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT RESOLUTION ADOPTED <br />JUNE 23, 1980 WHICH ORDERED A SPECIAL ELECTION TO <br />BE HELD AUGUST 9, 1980, BY PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT <br />OF ELECTION OFFICIALS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved to approve the Resolution. Mrs. Norris seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a presentation of the preliminary <br />Utility Fund 1980-81 Budget Proposal. The City Manager presented the <br />budget as proposed thus far. <br />
