<br />83 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />august 11, 1980 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN ~1ARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND TEXAS EDUCATIONAL <br />FOUNDATION, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES <br />OF CITY'S ANIMAL CONTROL DEPARTMENT ON THE SITE <br />OF THE GARY JOB CORPS CENTER. <br /> <br />The City Attorney stated her concern about accepting liability. She I <br />stated that the Gary contract on Willow Creek did not accept liability. <br />The City Manager stated that Gary provided Willow Creek services for <br />free and the City is charing for animal control. Mrs. Norris moved to <br />adopt the Resolution. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced <br />Improvement Project. <br />item number 2, a 24' <br />of-way. Mr. Cavazos <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />for consideration the scope of the Blanco St. <br />Mr. Stokes made a motion to proceed to design <br />street without acquisition of additional right- <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Cavazos, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Tarbutton <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration awarding bid on the main lift <br />station pumps. Mr. James moved to award the bid to Pump & Power Equipment <br />from Austin. Mr. STokes seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Gonzalez advised that the main lift station pump installation and <br />electrical work would be immediately re-bid. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration awarding bids on police cars. <br />Mr. Cavazos stated that only 1 bid was submitted because other local <br />dealers were not able to get 1981 prices by the deadline. Mr. Cavazos <br />moved to reject the bid. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. Mr. Stokes moved to rebid the item and to consider it at <br />the second meeting in September. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The City Manager requested Council consider advertising <br />bids on vehicles outside the City. Council discussed the question and <br />directed that the re-bid of police vehicles go to local dealders with <br />the understanding that if competitive bids were not received, the City <br />would consider inclusion of out-of-city dealers in the bid advertisement <br />process. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, RELATING TO THE INDUSTRIAL OR NANUFACTURING <br />PROJECT FOR THE USE OF GULF BUSINESS FORMS~ INC. <br />APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. ]\Ilr.
