<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Task 3 - Review and evaluate the operating procedure and cost <br />of operation of the City of San Marcos' pumping <br />stations and storage facilities. <br /> <br />Task 4 - Review in general terms, the capability of the San <br />Marcos water supply system to meet future demands. <br /> <br />Task 5 - A water distribution analysis for all major mains <br />(6" and larger) in the system will be prepared for <br />existing facilities. Detailed studies and recom- <br />mendations relating to the pipe size selection which <br />will effectively conserve energy, particularly as <br />related to the growth of the distribution system to <br />meet demands from new development will be prepared. <br />A recommended program of water transmission, main <br />construction, storage and pumping facilities (with <br />cost projections for years 1981 through 1987) will <br />be prepared for the study years 1987 and 2000. <br />Analysis of the distribution system will be by <br />electronic computer. <br /> <br />Task 6 - A computer model of the existing City of San Marcos <br />water distribution system will be provided. The <br />computer model can be revised as improvements are <br />made in the system and used to evaluate construction <br />alternatives that may deviate from the proposed <br />master plan. <br /> <br />Task 7 - Assemble all basic data, studies, findings and <br />recommendations into a final printed report. Thirty <br />(30) bound copies will be presented to the City. <br /> <br />3. Time of Completion: The Water Distribution System Report will <br />be completed and presented to the City in approximately 270 days from <br />the notification to proceed. <br /> <br />4. Compensation: Compensation to the Engineer for the work <br />defined in Paragraph 2 \till be a lump sum amount of $41,690.00. The <br />Engineer may request partial payments monthly as the work progresses <br />based on the percent of work completed, not to exceed ninety percent of <br />the total contract amount. The total or final payment shall be due and <br />payable upon submittal of the final Reports to the City. <br /> <br />For utilization of the computer model, when requested by the <br />Owner, the Engineer will be compensated based on the Schedule of Charges <br />in effect at the time the work is authorized. The current schedule is <br />included as Attachment A. <br /> <br />2. <br />
