<br />RESOLUTION NO. 1980-59R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES BETWEEN SAID CITY AND FREESE <br />AN mICHOLS, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION <br />WITH THE SELECTION OF A SITE FOR AND THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE STATION TO BE <br />LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST SAN MARCOS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~ffiNAGER OF SAID <br />CITY TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />115 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas needs a fire station in the <br />southeast section of said City to better serve the citizens residing <br />in that section of the City; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of said City intends to select a site for <br />the proposed station and desires assistance in the evaluation of <br />possible sites; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Council desires to obtain architectural and engineering <br />services in connection with the construction of the station after a <br />site is selected; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Freese and Nichols, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, Registered <br />Professional Engineers, is qualified to assist said City in the selection <br />of a site for a fire station, in the design and development of plans <br />for the construction of the station and in the general representation <br />and observance of work during the construction of the station; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Council wishes to employ Freese and Nichols, Inc. of <br />Fort Worth, Texas, Registered Professional Engineers, to perform said <br />services; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PART 1. That the contract for engineering services between the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas and Freese and Nichols, Inc. of Fort ~vorth, Texas, <br />Registered Professional Engineers for the provision of professional <br />services in connection with the site for and the construction of a fire <br />station to be located in southeast San Marcos, a copy of which is attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein for all intents and purposes be, and is <br />hereby, approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager of the City of San Marcos, Texas, A. C. <br />Gonzalez, or his successor be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute <br />said contract on behalf of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PART 3.
