<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR <br /> <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />This Contract entered into this c2SfA day of ~I <br />1980, by and between the CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, hereTnaf r called the <br />Owner, acting by and through A. C. Gonzalez, its City Manager, duly authorized <br />to act, and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC., of Austin, Texas, Registered Professional <br />Engineers, hereinafter called the Engineer. <br /> <br />WITNESSETH, that in consideration of the covenants and agreements herein <br />contained, the parties hereto do mutually agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Employment of Engineer: The Owner hereby employs the Engineer <br />and the Engineer agrees to provide professional services hereinafter set <br />forth in connection with the selection of a site for and the construction <br />of a Fire Station to be located in southeast San Marcos. <br /> <br />~he employment of the Engineer as covered by this contract shall <br />be applicable only to such improvements for which the Owner shall make <br />specific authorization to the Engineer to perform services. <br /> <br />2. Character and Extent of Services: The Engineer shall render <br />architectural and engineering services for the development and construction <br />of the project, which shall include the following: <br /> <br />a. City Wide Fire Service Planning and Sjte Selection Assistance: <br />Provide professional services to assist the City in city wide <br />fire service planning and in selection of a site currently <br />budgeted for development. <br /> <br />(1) City Wide Planni-D.[ <br /> <br />(a) Review State Board of Insurance and Fire Prevention <br />Engineering Bureau of Texas criteria with the staff to <br />define desired level of fire protection in San Marcos. <br /> <br />(b) Make tentative projections of future growth and <br />land usage, based on information available at this time <br />from the Master Plan process. <br /> <br />(c) Review the existing number of personnel, and type <br />and numbers of fire apparatus (trucks) in the fire <br />department, and after consultation with staff, determine <br />deficiencies and make projections of future requirements <br />in light of 2.a.(1)(a) above. <br />
