<br />I <br /> <br />b. Designs, Plans and Specifications: Designs, Plans and <br />Specifications will be prepared for the agreed upon <br />improvements recommended in Paragraph 2.a. The Engineer <br />shall prepare forms of proposals; prepare applications <br />for licenses and/or approvals from local, state, and <br />federal authorities; attend conferences and assist in the <br />coordination of the work with other interested parties; <br />and assist in the award of construction contracts. The <br />Engineer shall furnish up to twenty sets of plans, speci- <br />fications and contract documents. Additional copies over <br />that shall be furnished at cost of reproduction and <br />handling. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />c. General Representation and Observation During Con- <br />struction: The Engineer shall furnish general repre- <br />sentation and observation of the work during the con- <br />struction phase as follows: review shop drawings pur- <br />suant to the General Conditions of the Construction <br />Contract; make not more than two visits per month to site <br />by office staff; review such work of testing laboratories <br />as may be required by the Owner; keep the Owner informed <br />of the progress of the work; issue all instructions of <br />the Owner to Contractor; prepare change orders as re- <br />quired and review the application for payment submitted <br />by the Contractor. The Engineer shall use reasonable <br />diligence to detect defects and deficiencies in the work <br />of Contractor and disapprove or reject work as failing to <br />conform to the Contract Documents. Engineer shall not be <br />responsible for the means, methods, techniques, sequences <br />or procedures of construction selected by Contractor or <br />the safety precautions and programs incident to the work <br />of the Contractor. Engineer shall not be responsible for <br />the acts or omissions of any person, (except his own em- <br />ployees and agent) at the Project site or otherwise <br />performing any of the work of the Project. <br /> <br />d. Resident Representation During Construction: If re- <br />quested by Owner, a Resident Project Representative and <br />assistants will be furnished who will act as directed by <br />Engineer in order to provide more extensive representation <br />at the Project site during the Construction Phase. The <br />Owner shall advise the Engineer before the completion of <br />the preparations of the Contract Documents if the Engi- <br />neer is to provide this service. The Resident Project <br />Representative will be on the project site at such times <br />as the Engineer deems appropriate. It is also understood <br />that these services are in addition to the visits to the <br />project site as set forth in the paragraph above. <br /> <br />2. <br />
