(b) Each such rronthly benefit for the month of January 1981, and each month thereafter shall be increased by 40% above the amount of the regular benefit (as distin- guished from any supplemental or distributive benefit) in effect for the month of December, 1980. SECTION 5. That the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 2-45, which said section reads as follows: Section 2-45. The granting of "Updated Service Credits" as provided in Section 2-43 above and the granting of in- creases in annuities in effect, as provided in Section 2-44, above, shall be conditioned upon and subject to approval by the Board of Trustees of Texas Municipal Retirement System as provided in the act governing said System. SECTION 6. That the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 2-46, which said section read~ as follows: Section 2-46. Increased Municipal Contributions to the Current Service Annuity Reserve at retirement of the employees of the City of San Marcos. Effective January 1, 1981, for each month of Current Service thereafter rendered by each of its employees who are members of the Texas Municipal Retirement System, the City will contribute to the current service annuity reserve of each such member at the time of his retirement, a sum that is 150% of such member's accumulated deposits for such month of employment; and said sum shall be contri- buted from the City's account in the Municipality Current Service Accumulation Fund. SECTION 7. That the importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative purpose necessary that the provision of the charter requiring that ordinances shall be read on three separate meetings be dispensed with and said provision is hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after January 1, 1981.
