ATTACHMENT A <br />City of San Marcos <br />Wastewater System Model Development and <br />Calibration to Existing Wastewater System Conditions <br />Preliminary Engineering Scope of Services <br />Project Understanding: Freese and Nichols will develop a sustainable wastewater system <br />model integrated with GIS. Temporary flow monitoring will be conducted for model calibration <br />to existing system conditions. The wastewater development and calibration will be used to <br />provide input into the City's upcoming Comprehensive Plan. As part of the wastewater system <br />model development, FNI will conduct delineation of wastewater sewer basins to prepare for <br />future wastewater system analysis as the comprehensive plan develops. The wastewater <br />sewer basin delineation will also provide the City with drainage basins for the future <br />Stormwater Master Plan as well as spatial delineation needs for the future Water Master Plan. <br />TASK A: PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br />Al. Project Kickoff Meeting and Model Software Selection <br />Conduct a project kickoff meeting with the City to discuss project scope and schedule. A data <br />request memorandum will be presented and discussed. Wastewater modeling software will <br />also be discussed to determine the City's priorities for model goals, criteria for selection and <br />ability to use previous work to date. Based on the information presented, the City will select <br />the modeling software to be used to update the sewer model. <br />A2. Communications Plan <br />In addition to technical, task - related meetings, the Project Manager will have monthly meetings <br />with the City to review progress, discuss data needs, and any topics of special concern. Bi- <br />weekly Status Reports will also be submitted that summarizes progress and documents <br />upcoming tasks. The report will outline upcoming key decisions which will require input from <br />or discussion with the City. <br />TASK B: FLOW MONITORING AND FLOW DATA ANALYSIS <br />131. Data Collection and Preparatory Work <br />Collect and review existing City information to identify metering sites. Perform reconnaissance <br />of the metering sites with City personnel to determine the suitability for metering based on <br />hydraulics and accessibility during rainfall periods and to define the flow metering basin <br />boundaries. <br />WW Master Plan Engineer Services (Engineering Services) — February 2012 <br />12 <br />
