B2. Temporary Flow Meter Installation, Calibration, Data Collection
Install and calibrate seventeen (17) temporary velocity /depth type flow meters and two (2)
rainfall gauges at the agreed upon locations. Temporary flow meters shall remain in place for a
minimum of sixty (60) days.
B3. Flow Data Analysis and Evaluation
Reduce raw field monitoring data and tabulate 15- minute flow data for the entire flow
monitoring period. Prepare flow hydrographs and scattergraphs for the flow monitoring
period. Flow data will be analyzed for average dry weather flow, peak dry weather flow, and
wet weather peak flow rates. Flow data will be compared with rainfall data to determine
amount of inflow /infiltration experienced during selected storm events.
B4. Flow Monitoring Results Technical Memorandum (TM -1)
Prepare Technical Memorandum (TM -1) showing flow monitoring results and submit five (5)
copies to the City. TM -1 will include flow monitoring results and analysis, development of dry
and wet weather flow parameters by sewer basin and meter sites as well as level of
infiltration /inflow throughout City.
TASK C: MODEL DEVELOPMENT
Conduct Gap Analysis to Review Network Connectivity and Identify Data Needs
FNI will review data for network connectivity, flow direction, unique ID discrepancies, and
missing attribute information. Interviews with operations and GIS staff will be conducted as
well. FNI will utilize modeling software to electronically verify and correct flow directions to
help select flow monitoring locations and model development.
Develop Protocol to Populate Missing Data for Model Development
FNI will develop forms to collect data and assist City staff to obtain missing attribute data and
connectivity conflicts. A protocol will be identified to incorporate new data into GIS features,
such as available information on material, age, size, and missing invert data on all sewer lines 8"
and larger with additional key 6" lines. FNI will spend time in the field with operational staff to
evaluate areas of discrepancies. Information collected will be documented for importation into
the City's GIS database.
Import GIS Data into Model and Conduct Detailed Model Network Review
Once the attribute data is established on nodes and links and lift station information entered
into the model, a detailed analysis will be done on the model database to resolve anomalies of
the data. This includes generating lists of pipes with negative slopes, reviewing pipe profiles on
major interceptors. FNI will develop pipe profiles for each major sewer interceptor for manual
review with pipes with negative slopes highlighted.
WW Master Plan Engineer Services (Engineering Services)— February 2012
13
